Self Assessed Clearances (SACS)

Self Assessed Clearances are used where the total Customs Value of a  consignment is less than A$1000.00. For shipments with a Customs value of less than A$1000.00 Customs do not collect any payments for Customs duty or GST.

We are able to complete SACS on behalf of Importers of these low value shipments. These shipments still need to pass through the normal Quarantine clearance procedure, so additional Quarantine charges will apply for goods like foods, products made from plant or animal materials, goods which contain soil, and second hand goods.

If you would like us to complete a SAC clearance for you we will need, a letter of authority completed by the importer, and a copy of all the associated paperwork for the shipment.

For seafreight shipments the documents required will include a packing declaration. The format for a packing dec is available here.
