Imported goods can be subject to a minefield of legislation, Import Duties, GST, even specific marking requirements.

Some examples are:

Air Conditioners or Refrigeration equipment, any goods fitted with an air conditioner or refrigeration system/unit that operates on HFC, HCFC OR CFC gases require an Import licence issued by The Department of environment and Heritage. Without a licence these goods are a prohibited Import.

Motor Vehicles, All motor vehicle require approval from the Department of Transport, this not only includes cars, but extends to essentially any goods with a motor and wheels, even if the goods are not for road use. For more information check the Department of Transport website. link here
